Brioche French Toast

Yield- Serves 5

Ingredients

Brioche bread, sliced 10 slices

Eggs, beaten 3 ea.1

Milk 1 1/2 C

Sugar 1/4 C

Cinnamon 2 T

Vanila extract 2tsp

powdered sugar 5T

Butter 1/2 C

Method of Prep

  1. With a whisk, mix the beaten eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract in a wide rimmed bowl.

  2. Heat a sauté pan to medium heat. and butter the pan with 1/3 of the butter.

  3. One at a time, dip the sliced brioche bread into the egg mixture. Make sure the bread is evenly coated. however, do not leave the bread in the liquid for too long as it can get too soggy.

  4. Place your coated piece of brioche onto your medium heated pan. Cook on both sides for roughly 1/2 minutes or until golden brown. 

  5. Repeat this sequence with the rest of the brioche bread slices. 

  6. Use a fine strainer to use for the application of the powdered sugar as a garnish. Serve while warmed with maple sugar and butter slices. Enjoy!
